Welcome to the SFURTI (Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries) initiative, an endeavor by down town Charity Trust in collaboration with the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME). Our mission is to promote cluster development and uplift traditional industries spread across India, particularly in the North-East region.

SFURTI is a visionary scheme initiated by the Ministry of MSME to revitalize traditional clusters of industries across the country. The primary goal of SFURTI is to empower these clusters with essential amenities and benefits, enabling them to enhance their competitiveness in the industry and achieve greater revenue and profitability.

As a Technical Agency under the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati, and the North East Handicraft & Handloom Development Corporation (NEHHDC), down town Charity Trust plays a pivotal role in implementing the SFURTI scheme in India. Our focus sectors include Handloom, Handicraft, Food-Processing, Agriculture, and Allied Sectors.

Creating Awareness and Impact
We have conducted numerous awareness programs across the North-East regions to promote the SFURTI scheme and its benefits. Currently, down town is actively working on 4 clusters under NEHHDC and 3 clusters under IIE, benefiting approximately 3,000 beneficiaries from different traditional industries.
