Welcome to the collaborative effort by Samagra Shiksha Assam and down town Charity Trust to empower education and skill development through the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) implementation. This transformative project is part of the overarching Samagra Shiksha program, which aims to improve school effectiveness and learning outcomes from pre-school to Class 12.
Samagra Shiksha is an all-encompassing program that amalgamates three erstwhile schemes - Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), and Teacher Education (TE). The program's broader goal is to ensure equal opportunities for schooling and equitable learning outcomes for students across all levels.
The key focus of Samagra Shiksha is to improve systems level performance and schooling outcomes, harmonizing implementation mechanisms and reducing transaction costs at all levels. By encouraging the use of state, district, and sub-district level systems and resources, the program envisages a comprehensive strategic plan for the development of school education at the district level.
NSQF, on the other hand, is a nationally integrated education and competency-based framework that enables individuals to acquire desired competency levels. Organized into graded levels from one to ten, NSQF recognizes qualifications based on learning outcomes regardless of whether they were acquired through formal, non-formal, or informal learning.
This comprehensive framework provides multiple pathways for individuals to progress through education and training, including vocational education, vocational training, general education, and technical education. It bridges the gap between different levels of learning, enabling individuals to transit to the job market and return for acquiring additional skills to further upgrade their competencies.

Recognizing individuals' prior learning and experiences, giving them an option to progress through education and training and gain recognition for their skills.
Enhancing the national and international mobility of persons with NSQF-compliant qualifications through increased recognition and comparability of Indian qualifications.
NSQF brings multiple benefits, including mobility between vocational and general education, reduced school dropout rates through job-oriented courses, and recognition of prior learning, allowing a smooth transition from non-formal to organized job markets.
Under Samagra Shiksha Assam, the NSQF initiative is being implemented in identified Government schools across eight different trades, including Healthcare, IT & ITeS, Beauty & Wellness, Electronics & Hardware, Agriculture, Automotive, Tourism & Hospitality, and Retail.
The collaboration with down town Charity Trust ensures successful implementation through various components, such as vocational teacher recruitment, induction training, guest lectures, hands-on skill training programs, and more.
